Holiday Vignette Countdown (and kudos!)

The harvest decor has been taken down, dusted, and safely packed away until next year (and our next home), which means it’s time to decorate the house for the holiday and winter season. Each day this week I’ll post photos of one new vignette (here’s where you can find helpful tips and ideas for areas of focus and interest for your home, office, or even classroom)- let me know what you think!

Also, *kudos* to In Practice, nominated for Best Group Blog for the 2007 Edublog Awards. It’s been a terrific blog to contribute to (thank you again Alice, for the invite!), and a wonderful resource to ask you to consider voting for online.

I am astounded at your ability to decorate so beautifully, pack things away in such an organized manner as to have them ready in the next house, and be a mom! I can’t get any of those things done well (and I haven’t moved in years). These pictures are inspirational.
Glad you like them! Putting myself on a daily schedule means I’ll have the tree up December 1, which to me is “just right.” I follow the same routine for my classroom: I have a tub for each season or holiday, and put breakable things up high, soft squishy stuff and books down low, lots of manipulatives and textures inbetween. Just means the frustrated interior decorator in me has DOUBLE the fun when I’m teaching, and every new home gets me inspired. When we finally settle down, I’ll probably have every combination/permutation exhausted!
What lovely, peaceful Christmas decor!
